Director, HoD Fire Engineering Team, Chartered Senior Fire Engineer

Harry is a Director and Owner of TM Consultants.

He is also a Chartered Senior Fire Engineering technical guru with specialist skills in computer modelling used as part of alternative and verification method design solutions.

He leads the TMCo fire team nationally and is based in the Christchurch office.

→   Harry has extensive experience in:

→   Fire safety engineering.

→   VM2 modelling.

→   Passive fire design.

→   Fire sprinkler systems design.

→   He has significant experience in fire and human movement modelling, which are demonstrated by his role with the Metro Sports Facility (18,000m2 sports and recreation hub 2015-2018) and the Spotlight Moorhouse development ($20million, 10,000m2 2 level retail building 2018-2019).

→   He is also a specialist in the application NZS PAS4509 and fire service requirements, this was critical in the expansion of Mitre 10 Motueka.

→   Harry’s focus will be on delivery of this project on time and budget, and he will undertake the detailed technical review, be involved in the stakeholder interaction and consider the wider project.

→   Spark Cathedral Square

Harry lead the construction monitoring of the construction of Sparks new office building at Cathedral Square and completed the fitout design for Spark.  The design elements of this project where carried out during the construction phase and required meeting tight deadlines to prevent delays to construction or abortive work. Harry’s input on site resulted in close coordination between the different construction teams and was invaluable to achieving the required Green Star rating for the project.

→   Rolleston Town Centre

This project was to provide both a community centre and library for the rapidly expanding local community. Flexibility of functionally was the key client requirement for this project.  Harry was able to exceed the client expectations, using fire modelling to demonstrate a significant reduction in FRR and therefore total construction cost, which was key to the project remaining on track.

→   Metro Sports Facility

Harry lead the fire design of the Metro sports facility. This project remains a Key Central City Anchor Project in the earthquake recovery of the city and is intended to be the largest aquatic and indoor recreation and leisure venue of its kind in New Zealand, and would be accessible to people of all ages, abilities and skill levels.   The building unique role and range of functions required some out of the square approaches, Harry and his team navigated the design though  to the consenting process and satisfied all client requirements.
